I thought I might start the blog again and see how my thoughts have changed over the years. Music, Travel and Photography are still my passions.

Ian has come back to Perth for a few days for his brother's wedding. We got to see him on Friday, when we visited him and a few friends at the Brisbane and then went to the Court. It was a good night. Was only going to have a couple of drinks. Then I got to the Court and it was Jeremy (Guy who works at The Court) birthday. So I had a few drinks with him. By the time I got home I wanted to go out and PARTAY,but like the good boy I am *sniggers*, I didn't.

It is now Tuesday. I had to work yesterday, but finished early. Ian stayed the night, so I was glad I was able to see him again cause I was s'pose to get yesterday and today off to see him. He leaves today at 6 and wanted to see him off at the airport, but was told I couldn't get those days off. Oh well, can't do anything about it now.

I chose to leave Bar 138 because I wasn't happy there anymore. I feel bad because I had to tell Matty I was leaving (cause he's a good friend of ours), but I always said I wouldn't be at a job I wasn't happy at.

So now this means I will be looking for a new full-time job so we can start working towards our morgages for our house....scary. So I have started looking at Travel Consultant jobs at flight centre ect. It's kinda exciting...... but it's something completely different to what I've done before.

It's been awhile I know but I have been bloody busy with work (doing 60 hours a week, and hate it). I have just told Connies that I can't work Saturdays so I can have a bit of a lif and get to spend time with my boy. It's been hard not being able to see him as often as I like, but in the next few weeks we can start getting our lives back.

Other big news, Ian has quit his job at CBlu because he hated the bordem and lack of Managerial Responsibility. So he has one more week there then he wants to try and d something different. Away from all the horrible complaining customers. Doesn't know what to do yet.....but it's all good.

I'll be able to put more photo's up when I get more time....there is shit loads on our camera that needs to be uploaded onto the computer then I can show you the small things w have been up to.....

As you all know it was also Ian's birthday a few weeks ago, which gave me the day off and we veged watching movies and thn went to the Kalamunda Pub with his family and a few friends, which was really nice..... I had a bottle of wine (typical).

Other than that we both a happy and well......... We got this humungous bed the other week as well and it is the best investment we ever got. I nearly called in sick the first day we got it so I could just spend all night in it....It is bloody awesome..... it's almost as good as Astrid's Bed....(altho I never got to spend a nigt sleeping in it so or bed is still better, hehe).

We are missing everyone (both in England and People here in Aus......but we will be seeing you guys soon..... yay for us).

It's getting late (and bloody cold), so I'll sign off for now and catch up with this blog in due course............ I'll keep you posted.

Working Hard!

I've been working so much these past few weeks. I finally finished at Burswood. Saturday was my last shift, it was St Pat's Day and bloody hell was it busy. So much fun tho. Everywhere was oput of control that we couldn't do anything about it, so I just got along with it. Everybody that was in the Main Bar ( I was in there for only and hour) were so miserable cause everyone was rude. I got in there and didn't give a shit, it's my last shift do I care. hehe

Bar 138 is going good. I did the afternoon/evening shifts this week. I have to be there at 2 today (running outta time before me bus) finish around 9/10 then be at Connies at 10ish. It's gonna be a long day. I can't wait til Sunday where I can actually get a break. Need to catch up on sleep n Ian.

Ian's parents have gone over to Queensland for a couple of week's, and we have the place to ourselves, but we both are working to much to just relax and enjoy it.

Anyway better go....don't wanna miss the bus.

I started another job this week. It's at Bar 138, where Matty (old manager at MetroCity, and now friend's own bar) gave me a job to do Breakfasts on Monday, Tuesday n Wednesday(with a chance to work on functions if I'm available, which is cool).

This is the bar, where I move onto after I have done breakfast and have to set up for the day. It's really cool.
This is where I work from 7am til about 10.30 where I give people breaky n coffee. We also do room service fore the Medina Hotel next door.
The only downfall with this job is I have to be up at 5am to catch a bus in time to get to work. Yawn.

I also served Bromwyn Bishop (Politition) and she was a pain. Snobby cow. heheh

This week I have 3 jobs next week I am down to 2 which is cool, I might be able to get some sleep and maybe a social life. Can't wait. Do feel sad about leaving Paddy Hannan's now because all the people there are lovely and they keep telling me that they don't want me to go because I was one of the nice one's that have come to work there. The others never lasted long cause they were crap....... but I'm gonna have to keep in contact with them cause they are awesome.

Sorry haven't written much lately. Have been very bus with work n shit. But the other day Matt n Ian came over. They are back from Hamilton Island for a few weeks and we just chilled at home, had a few drinks n froze our bollocks off in the pool. It was great to catch up with them.

Quit Burswood

I decided to resign at Burswood cause I didn't like serving the customers that were there. The people I worked with are awesome but couldn't stand the customers (which is a major part of the job). I have until St Pat's Day (17th March) until I leave, So I still get to see the people and hopefully keep in contact.

We finally got most of the block cleared this week. WE had a sexy Irish Guy clear it for us. He was really nice. But it's finally the step forward we needed to move on with the house. Can't wait for the house to start building....it's so exciting.
The Irish Guy (Chris) let Ian have a go on the machine. Ian was like a little kid at Christmas......

Mark n Kevin @ Connies

OH MY FUCKING GOD.........

Last Night at Connies I served Mark (From Westlife) and Kevin (from V). I couldn't believe it. It was very surreal, I asked Mark what he wanted to drink (not seeing his face to start off with), and then he spoke in his soft Irish voice. And I was Like "I know that voice from somewhere!" then I saw his face and I was Like OH MY GOD. I was the only one to pick it up that it was him cause he was very casually dressed. Kevin is so hot. I always fancied him from V.

They were very quiet all night and just chatting with themselves, with a few people from Connies that went up to them every so often to give them a free drink (thanks to me for picking them out).

YAZ hope you are jealous. I was centimetres from Marks face........... Yay for me....

It kept me going for the night...it was really dead.

I wanted a photo but it was very dark in the outside bar.

Block Finally Gets Cleared

The block is finally getting cleared tomorrow. Ian and myself get the fun job of being there to watch them clear it.....exciting stuff...

I'll be taking loads of photo's while Ian is there so he can tell the removalists what else they can clear while they are there...... There is a few bits of land we would like to clear to extend our plans when we finally build the house.......

So finally things are moving on.........

7.30am start I'm not looking forward to tho... I also have to work at Connies tomorrow night so I'll need to have a snooze before work.

All Monday, I spent it with Hayley. Ian finally got to meet her when we went for lunch at the Foundry at Carousel. It was very nice.....

Ian then had to go to the doctors around 4pm so Hayley and myself bought tickets to see Smoking Aces (wasn't too bad a movie, but was a bit confusing until the end). So while we were filling in time before the movie, we visited her house and got to see her dog Bella. She so small and cute......

I finally got a call from the Assistant Manager Tonight at 8.30pm (it's only 28hrs late), to see if I could work tomorrow at 12noon..... not impressed. So I asked about working shifts and stuff, and she also said that we can offer only weekend work, so if I had to work a Friday or Saturday at my other job then they could only offer me 1 shift a week. I'm slightly annoyed about this whole thing. But I'm gonna go tomorrow with an open mind and Hopefully have a proper talk with Kirsty (Assistant) about the hours I'm available. Kirsty was a bit snooty with me aswell, so the vibe I'm getting at the moment isn't good. I'll have to wait and see.

Last Night I finally got a call at 6.30pm saying that I'll be working at 9 that night (abit inconvenient, but oh well need the money). So all was good and I worked outside again (which has it's good and bad points), but I got a chance to learn some cocktails and practice them, which is cool. It feels weird cause I only know how to drink them not make them (except for a small few).

Last Night I made an Elevator, Illusion and a Fruit Tingle.

ELEVATOR: In a Shaker - 1 Shot Chambord
1 Shot Vanilla Absolute Vodka
Fill Shaker with Ice

Shake Vigorously

In Glass - Fill Glass with Ice
Strain Shaker over Ice until Half full
Top with Red Bull

(This cocktail was the best of the 3. It is very tasty)

Illusion: In a Shaker - 1 Shot Malibu
1 Shot Midori Melon
Fill with Ice
Top with Pineapple

Shake Vigorously
Leave In Shaker with a few straws.

(Boondi, this would be the shaker for you, it's like fruit juice. Not Bad but very sweet.

Fruit Tingle: In Glass - Fill With Ice
1 Shot Blue Curacao
1 Shot Vodka
Top with Lemonade
Dash of Grenadine in Middle

Should have a 2 tone effect, Pink & Purple/Blue.

(Didn't try this, but apparently it's not too bad. It's like a lolly (sweet for English people) we sell in Aus.)

You should give these a try, especially the Elevator, that was awesome.

Wednesday didn't bring a good crowd. I ended up getting about $7 tips and there were a few people I had to cut off because they were fucked. It wasn't as enjoyable as the weekend because of that. I can't wait til Friday/Saturday so the crowd will hopefully be much better....... Nice and Friendly.

2nd Day Orientation at Burswood

Had an awesome day until I had to speak to the bitch at Paddy Hannan's (where I'll be working). All she is is a Head Bar Person but I tried to tell her about Connies and hw they are wanting me to work atleast 1 night over the weekend (Friday/Saturday) and they girl just turned around and said "Well you are going to have to work here. Your expected to." I wasn't impressed. First I was looking for a full-time job and they give me casual. Second of all, they can't expect me to give up a job which can offer me 40 hours over 4 days (if I want) to work only 1 or 2 shifts over the weekend to cover them. And thirdly, she made a comment saying that I don't know why they are still hiring for here because we have enough Full-time/part-timers to fil in the roster anyway. Then we asked what shifts we are doing, and she came out with it doesn't look like you are working this week cause you aren't on the rosters.

So I haveto speak to the assistant manager tomorrow and talk to her about the rosters and Connies and shit. ANd I think I wanna say something about this girl..... why does she think she can talk to us like that. I mean we are only just starting out and I was asking questions about the place and it felt like I was inconveniencing her. They other guy that was there with me on orientation looked at me at one stage and looked at me like "who does she think she is?". So I'll see how the talk goes tomorrow with the manager person. Otherwise, I think I might just stick with Connies. Burswood has all the perks that anyonewould want and the career opportunities but if that's what it's gonna be like then screw that.... I wanna work and have fun....

My Jobs

I had an awesome weekend at Connections. Friday was opening night, and first official night working in the club. It was manic. To start off with, I had no idea how to use the tills or where any of the alcohol was kept or anything. I was just shoved in the deep end to fend for myself. After about and Hour of struggling, I got used to it and had an awesome night. I got $91 in tips (which is awesome). Saturday night was completely different. It was a lot quieter. I was working in the outside bar with Ken, which was has a completely different feeling than inside. They have chillout music and the mood is more relaxed. It was a beautiful night outside not to cold (until about 5.30am when the temp dropped alittle but nothing to outrageous). You also have the view of the city at night from the rooftop, which I just love. I really enjoyed working outside, except for the fact that there isn't a post mix pump outside so we had to open small bottles of mixers for every drink, and they were kept at the bottom of the fridges, so my legs were killing by the end of the night. I did more squats in one night than a personal trainer would make you do in a weeks training....... If I keep working outside I'm gonna get killer legs... hehehehe. Also because it was pretty quiet, I pretty much was left to myself to run the bar by myself. Ken kept going on breaks and was just around if I needed him (which was good). So on Day 2 I was looking after a bar pretty much by myself....... I think they are glad how quickly I picked things up, and don't have to worry about to much with me... I just need to have more practice before I'm really comfident....(need more practice with shooters and cocktails...then I'll be fine....I hope)....

Also, today was my first day of Orientation at Burswood. It was awesome. I met this girl who is fab... we just got along really well.....(meeting her for breakfast tomorrow morning before the second day of orientation...) which is cool...........we just kept piss farting around and chatting all day. The videos were a bit boring and because I have only had four hours sleep each night since Friday Night.. I felt like I was gonna fall asleep..... but I got through it ..... all is good... can't wait to sleep tonight hopefully will get atleast 8 hours.... fingers crossed. I get to see where I work tomorrow and see who I have to work with and stuff..... We have half the day with the big group from today and then we all get separated into the different departments that we are working in (So i have to say goodbye to Hayley then) and we get alittle orientation for the places we are working in.... can't wait... I'm all excited about that.........

So I'm finally gettting my life back on track... Ian's still looking for a job. Has applied for quite afew jobs and is still waiting on replies...but he's happy and missing me when I'm at work.... Ah Bless....

Australia Day (26th January)

Our first Australia Day in 5 years. It was an awesome day and we drank enough for the past few years we missed...it was great. It started at our temp house with swimming in the pool. The family popped around before they headed of to Uncle Andrew's and Aunty Mary's cause they have a view of the city. And we went to Langley Park (On the Perth Foreshore).

Job Interviews n Trials

The past week and a bit, I have been looking for a job (lucky me). And had an interview at Connections Nightclub (Gay Club) and had my trial last night. It wasn't too bad. The club is being refurbished (should be re-opened next Friday), so the club is in a small room (pretty much underground). It was weird to be working back in a nightclub but I think I'll get back into the swing of things. I have to go in on Thursday to get an orientation so I can get trained on the tills and the cocktails that will be on sale. Can't wait. I want cocktail experience (even if it is just going to be a small cocktail list, atleast it's still experience, it'll be a start).I also had an interview at the Burswood Casino on Thursday, and think the interview went well, but should find out this week if I get that job as well, I have my fingers crossed.....this job has loads of perks and shit, but won't get too excited just in case I don't get it. But if I did, I'd do Burswood full time and Connies part time.

So everyone keep your fingers crossed for me........

Julz Kitchen

Oh My God! I couldn't believe this place, the food was massive.

We went to a restaurant in Dongara called Julz kitchen (Mum used to work with Julz). It was really good, but the portions were absolutely massive. If people thought that Blubeckers was huge, then these are massive. Think Legendary Ribs and Double the Size. This is for both Entree's and Main Courses. And of course we ordered both not knowing the sizes of the dishes. It was fucking awesome food tho......... Definately go back.

They did have 2 (Rubbish) Waitress waiting on 2 tables (max. for the whloe place would be (8 tables, so easily done by 1 waitress), but for Dongara, the excperience wasn't bad at all. Didn't leave there hungary that's for sure.

Irwin River Vineyards

I was quite surprised to find out that there were vineyards this far up of the West Australian coast. So Ken said he'd take us to have a Wine Taste just to see what they were like. I was pleasantly surprised. It's their 2nd Vintage, so still young in their making (not that I know much about wine), but they had a very nice Shiraz and a Liquer Port (which Ken purchased for me). i only got 1 bottle of wine just to see what it's like for drink the whole bottle (cause you only get a taster when trying it), but if it's nice I get mum to continue buying me some. I wanna stick with West Australian Produce to support our farming ect. over here.

I've now made it up to Dongara and staying with mum so we can catch up with the family and shit. It's the first time I've been to the house (she's only just bought the place in the past year) and it's really nice (the only downfall is that it's in Dongara, not a big fan of the country as most of you know). But it's good for a holiday and to catch up with mum.......

Hehehehe, it was so funny. Mum has come down from Dongara to see us and she took us out to Bingo on Wednesday (Ian was pretty scared about it, not knowing what to expect), and he had a blast. He was quite funny and kept us entertained because he'd be laughing at how they call the numbers or how the granny's had bought their own picnic dinners and thermos' ect.

It was a good evening but we didn't win anything.

Just a little update on what we've been up to....

Today we went shopping (for a change, it seems to be all we do now a days....). We ended up buying a Playstation 2, 37" LCD TV, Surround Sound, SingStar (for the playstaion, where you sing into the microphones and get a score from the notes you sing.....like the dancemats but with voice), and an Eye Toy (which picks up you image and movements like a webcam and that is you controls for the game. You have to run, flap your arms or wave or something like that....so much fun).

We also popped into the place where we are staying after New Years. It's quite nice. Has a pool and we are out in a Granny Flat (which is cool cause we get some kind of privacy/independence). So we also bought a cooking/home starter kit for the place. Can't wait to move in so we can catch up on some sun baking.....I need to get rid of my English Tan.

I'm just listening to music (trying to get time to myself, cause it's hard for me with all these people around.....not used to it all the time....I need Me Time), so that's what I'm doing. I can't wait to get a computer (that's the next thing that we are gonna get) so I can start working on getting all my Music and Music Video's back. I miss them loads. I'm getting sick of the stuff I have on my MP3 Player...need new shit (or old, but need different albums then what I have now).

I also have to work on getting my DVD collection back up to where it was, now that we have surround sound and a DVD player. Ian doesn't want us to do that again, cause he says it's a waste of money buying them all. But I want to have them on our shelves so I can just go "I fancy watching this". So I'll be buying them with my money by the looks of things, hehehe.......

OK..... I'm gonna stop boring you all and go and sleep maybe........

Finally, I've gotten over my Jetlag (they were a bloddy awful few days). We have been out every night to catch up with people but all I wanted to do was sleep, so wasn't really the life of the party. But it's all good now.

I think we are gonna go to the beach (for the first time since being back) so that'll be nice. Everyone is over here now. Jarrod has flown over from Melbourne (for a week) , so it feels like nothings changed here (it'll all change when we settle down). Then we'll probably be popping over to Joanne's for a Barbie (that's all we really have done lately, most meals have been on the Barbie, it's great). I'm slowly getting onto the alcohol again. I've been struggling cause of the Jetlag and Shit............

Other than that nothing really has been happening. Christmas Day we had a news crew around and we were on the 5 O'clock news. I'm organising going up to see Mum, but that'll be organised once Mum finds out if she can pick me up in Perth or if I have to catch a Bus (hope not the bus cause it takes 6 hours to get there, rather than 4 hours). And then I can get my BINGO fix, hehehe. There's a $33 Million draw for Lotto on the 30th, so we are going to win that one (fingers crossed).

Today we went to the house to have a scrumage around the place to see what we could find. I obviously got burnt on my shoulders (no surprise there). It was interesting what we found....

Bearer Of Bad News

I know I haven't been updating much lately, but been busy with sorting things before we go home and the laptop hasn't been working for ages.

Anyway, this post is to inform people who don't already know:

There was a fire on Tuesday 13th Dec, which got out of control and burnt down Ian's Parents house. Everyone is ok, but everything was lost. Some 58 year old idiot was burning rubbish behind his house and the fire got out of hand (there is a complete fire ban around Australia bythe way). All our belongings that got shipped over was in the house aswell.

It's been a very stressful few days. Ian is safely back in Aus with his family, and unfortunately I still have 2 more days left in England before i get back.

I promise the next post won't be so shocking and depressing but I thought you should know.

Tom C's Going Away Drinks

Last night we had a boys night out for a going away do for Tom. It was a great evening. We went to the Cricketers for a few drinks, which then led us to Cameleon in Woking (nobody actually wanted to go to Cameleon, but didnt want the night to end). Little Britain

We saw Little Britain Live on Monday with Ian's parents.It was classic, I had the biggest pains in my sides from Laughing so hard. We went as a surprise present for Ian's Parents, which they seemed to enjoy. I'm glad we got the tickets for the extra shows because I tried to get some last year but were all sold out by the time we realised that we were staying for the year.

We've now got more tickets booked for March next year because Joanne wants to go see it (they are coming to Perth by the way) so she twisted our arms (not much twisting was needed tho). So I can't wait. The only downfall of having to wait that long is that we are going to have the DVD before we see it again.............

For Lauren's Birthday (which is on Halloween) we are all dressing up and going out to Oceana. I'm going as Harry Potter. The theme she came up with was Superheroes/Disney Characters. I didn't particularly wanna go as Eeyore or anything like that (and I shipped my Superman Outfit back home, so I couldn't even reuse that outfit, altho it would of beena bit too cold to wear that in England). Hen's Reunion Update

It was an awesome night out. We went out to Twickenham (dunno how to spell it) and got quite drunk.

It started off at Christies Mum's house where we all were to meet before going into town. Upon arrival, we found a fake hand, so decided to play jokes with it for the rest of the night. We were all in fits of laughter. We drank quite alot before we left, so there were a couple of people who were well on their way before stepping foot out of the house. We ended up walking to The Cabbage Patch, which is right in town. There was a huge debate about how far it really was (eventually it would of taken about half a hour walk) altho we did stop in a wine bar on the way (forced Astrid to drink a Manhatten, cause she said she'll have what I'm drinking and found the worst thing I could imagine having).

When we actually arrived to The Cabbage Patch, we had to pay £10 entry per head (we couldn't believe it, but paid cause we had no choice). The music started off shit, but improved as the night went on. We were all shouting to the music (and I woke up with the sorest throat, which I'm still suffering with). It was a great night out. I didn't go to bed til about 5am Sunday morning. And with only 5 hours sleep worked last night (which just dragged on, all I wanted to do was sleep).

Hen's Reunion

The tent isnt as bad as I first thought. The first night out in the tent was awful. It was bloody cold and uncomfortable, but we have now fixed these problems and the past few nights sleep have been quite good. We just booked more tickets to go see her on the 4th of December for my birthday. I'm so excited. It was so bloody good. She's such a fantastic performer, and her voice is fucking amazing.

The highlight was "Dear Mr President". It was just so touching and you know she believes every word she is singing when you watch her perform it. Its just so good. Another was her rendition of 4 Non Blondes "What's Up". Everyone knew the song and was singing there hearts out to it.

I can't wait to go and see her again. I have to go see her in Aus aswell, so if anyone finds out dates for a Perth concert let me know so I can purchase a couple of tickets.

Oldies Dinner

Last night we went out to dinner with Kirsten, Guy, Anthony, Caroline, Jill, Neil, Kiara and a lady from Eversley. We went to Pizza Palace in Camberley. It was a really good evening. We ended up being the customers we hate (last people in the restuarant and sitting there for about an hour after the last table) but it was great.

QUAKE

Jill Goldberg

Shock, by Jill Goldberg, is one of many photo's of her collection "End Times" which has provoked an uproar in the art community and the public. Poeple are saying that Jill has been abusing these children while taking the photo's, by stipping them of their clothes and giving them a lollipop and then taking it away from them to get a reaction.

Personally, I think these photo's are very emotional and powerful. Jill took these photo's to portray her view on how people are feeling anxiety to how the politics of her country (America) are ruining the future. She's stated "Sometimes I feel like crying with the way things are going." As for abuse, these photo's were taken under the supervision of the parents, so if Jill should be accused of abuse, then so should the parents for letting them be taken in this state. I don't think that there is anything wrong with these photo's, because I believe there would be no long term damage from the candy being taken away from the children. She ended up giving the candy back after a minute or two after the photo's were taken.

It would be great to hear your opinions on this topic. So please leave a comment. I have some websites on the side bar for people to have a look at if anyone is interested.

Cornwall Trip

WE are now back from Cornwall........ It was beautiful down there. We stayed in Exeter (awful people there......don't seem to smile and have awful customer service). I made a twat of myself when Ian asked me to get the registration number from the car. I didn't know where it was, and asked him "Where abouts is it?". Ian was pissing myself laughing, and when I found out what it was, We couldn't stop laughing....the lady behind the counter didn't even smirk, let alone look like it was funny. I was quite embarresed but saw the funny side of it....... I was still pissing myself randomly for a few hours later.

We then went over to Newquay, where we stayed for 3 nights. The people here were much nicer. We stayed in a place, like they kept referring it to, which resembled "Faulty Towers". The Manager was Gay and so fucking funny, the staff seemed to enjoy working with him, and there was also this really hot guy bringing in the bags from the coaches (known as The Pretty Boy).

While away, we went to the Eden Project (which was a really good few hours). We also went down to Land's End (which wasn't much, but good to say that we went there. It was really for Ian's Dad, so Ian gave them a call while we were there). We also visited Goonhilly Earth Station (as you already know) which was also pretty good (to my surprise). Ian really wanted to go, so I agreed and really enjoyed it at the end.

It sucks to be back in Chobham, cause I know I have to work again in a couple of days. We also have to finish our packing which seems to be never-ending.

Goonhilly Earth Centre

Squash

Just got back from Squash. Michael and Lauren ended up coming aswell. It's the first time Lauren ever played, so the two of them were left alone while she was learning. It was a fun hour.

We are suppose to be in Woking now, but Deon has just called, so we have been talking to him for about 10 mins now. He's all good as is Celine. They have just left The Bahama's and are on their way to Miami. They are on the water at the moment. He first rang and when I answered the phone, I heard "Hello Mr Roper" so I hung up thinking that it was one of those call centres that keep calling us. I felt bad when he told it was him....but it's quite funny.........I shouldn't be so rude..hehehe

We are finishing our packing for the rest of the day (after Woking) and then we are going to be going to Pantiles for dinner, but we aren't going out clubbing, which is good cause we are nackered and need to be off early tomorrow morning....so it's a good idea....but a shame....I just wanna have a good night out with everyone........
